We’ve increased our construction expertise

Our dedicated construction underwriting team has been strengthened, with the addition of four new lead trading underwriters.

With their deep understanding of the construction industry, they can create bespoke solutions tailored to meet your customer’s needs.

We’ve launched a new Construction Project Policy

This new policy is a flexible insurance solution for individual construction projects, from smaller through to very large and complex projects.

Targeting construction companies, property owners and developers, it allows cover to be adapted to the specific contractual requirements, all within a single policy.

Key highlights are:

• New policy documentation, with cover extensions automatically built into wordings, and flexible extension limits displayed clearly on the schedule, along with the limits of indemnity and excesses
• Consideration of timber frame contracts and modern methods of construction
• Additional cover for building back better following a claim
• Consideration of co-insured cases

The rating structure is flexible, and high levels of capacity are available.

All cases are manually underwritten, with our experienced and locally empowered branch underwriters supported by the specialist construction underwriting team.

We’ve introduced new cover for Own and Hired in Plant

We’ve added a new ‘Own and Hired in Plant’ section to our Contractors Combined policy wording.

This provides all risks cover in respect of damage to:

• own plant and equipment
• hired in plant, employees’ tools and temporary buildings

Reinstatement cover is included for items of own plant less than two years of age.

There are also many additional extensions of cover available, including Environmental protection and Multiple lifts cover.
